So the one I wanted to highlight this week is by Jonathan Birch, and it's entitled The Edge of Sentience, Risk and Precaution in Humans, Other Animals and AI, and this is just a topic that I know a lot of you are really, really interested in. And it really is like, when we compare, particularly when we're talking about insect welfare or shrimp welfare, are we talking about sentience in the same, does it have the same meaning as when we're talking about cows?

And if it doesn't have the same meaning, does that mean it's meaningless? How do we compare different entities?
